Wake Up The Giant is an educational initiative under STEFO (Sastoma Empowerment Foundation), created to revive literature and English education among Nigerian youth. Driven by over 30 years of teaching experience, the program responds to alarming declines in educational standards, including a shortage of English/literature teachers, falling student enrollment in literature, poor communication and writing skills, and the disappearance of literary clubs and academic competitions. Notably, while Nigeria hosts over 100 reality shows focused on physical talent, none addresses the critical gap in reading and communication skills. Wake Up The Giant aims to fill this void through “Nigerian Youths Got Brains” — a literary and academic reality show designed to celebrate intellectual ability, creative writing, and brainpower among young Nigerians. The initiative recognizes that Nigeria’s youth remain its greatest resource, with vast untapped potential waiting to be discovered, nurtured, and channeled toward national development.
