On an ordinary Saturday, our founder went to tidy her church and
returned through a crowd gathered around a kiosk. Inside lay a man’s
body — and beside it, a small boy of eight, gripping his mother’s
wrapper, asking over and over: “Who will pay my school fees now?”
Within moments, the husband’s relatives stripped the kiosk of every
possession. The widow was left with nothing — accused, bereaved,
and alone.
That boy’s cry became a lifelong vow. For twenty years, our founder
and her family privately supported widows and funded scholarships
through their own schools in Lagos and Ogun State. That boy is now a
university graduate studying abroad.
In 2018, Sastoma Empowerment Foundation was officially registered expanding two decades of private work into a structured organisation serving all of Africa. O
Inclusive paths
to a dignified life.
To empower underserved Nigerians — especially
indigent students, young people, women and
vulnerable households — through inclusive
education support, skills development,
community wellbeing, basic-needs assistance, and
youth-led advocacy; advancing equity, decent
livelihoods and safer, more inclusive communities.
A Nigeria where
no one is left behind.
A Nigeria where every person, regardless of
background or location, has equitable access to
quality education, nutritious food, good health,
clean energy solutions, decent work opportunities
and justice — enabling resilient, peaceful and
prosperous communities.
Our headquarters remain in Nigeria, with
programmes extending across rural and periurban Africa. We deliver locally-led, culturally
appropriate interventions that are measurable,
transparent and scalable.
Six pillars of
transformation.
Scholarships, school supplies, and learning resources for indigent students — because every child deserves a seat in the classroom.
Vocational training and livelihood programmes that equip young people and women with tools for economic independence.
Advocacy and direct assistance for widows facing injustice, ensuring their families are not abandoned in moments of crisis.
Food, health, and essential household support for vulnerable families living at the margins of survival.
Affordable energy solutions that power homes, schools, and small businesses in underserved communities.
Youth-led advocacy programmes that build active citizens who can demand accountability and shape their communities.

Indeed i enjoyed my participation in this reality
show and my stay on the camp ground has
increased my intellectual capacity. Despite the
fact that some of us did not qualify for the next
stage yet we were positively impacted through
the sections in which we participated.

keeps on moving

Numbers that
tell a human story.
Through Christel Nursery & Primary School, Meir International College, and Mehof Group of Schools, we have given
hundreds of children and families a second chance — privately funded for two decades before becoming a registered
foundation.
Today, STEFO operates across Nigeria and extends into Africa, bringing the same care, rigour, and humanity that began in a
kiosk in Festac to communities that need it most.
